Not sure what to say?

Dear Dad,
Having been without you for a few weeks now, I realize the things about you that impacted me most: Your twinkling eye when I entered the room telling me that I was still someone special; the memory of your sage advice - always cutting to the chase and giving me the straight answer; your steady sense of humor - I think I took comfort in your predictable verses. Your grandkids miss you terribly and I can't express the emptiness that I fell when I think that you are away forever....

This was written the day Skoch passed by his 6 year old granddaughter...

March 1, 2009
My Dad's Dad died today.

I never thought that it would be this way. My Dad was trying to go see him again.
Grandpa Skochy was a great grandpa. I really miss him now, that's why we are going to go see his grave and see my cousins.
I am quite sad that he died. The doctors couldn't do anything about it.
Daddy was there just a few weeks ago for Grandpa's 84th birthday.
I wanted to...

My admirable father left me with some guiding principles and some priceless witticisms, much more impressive than his personal accomplishments, in my eyes. Although who the heck gets three holes-in-one with a perpetual 14 handicap!
He taught me to always deal with integrity, to be accountable, to be fair, to be honorable, to be prepared, to be flexible, to be accessible and to always be formidable. He practiced and preached to never turn away from any challenge (aim for the moon and you...

SARA,

JULIE FORWARDED US YOUR LETTER AND YOUR DAD'S OBIT. WE ONLY KNEW HIM BRIEFLY BUT WE HEAR ALL ABOUT YOU AND WILL AND KNOW WHAT A GOOD DAD HE MUST HAVE BEEN TO HAVE BEEN YOUR FATHER. OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ESPECIALLY YOUR MOM. OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU.

FONDLY,

BABETTE & JIM FEIBEL (JULIE'S MOM & DAD)

Marylois and the entire Skochdopole family....my heart goes out to each of you at the loss of your husband and father. Skoch was a terrific man who made friends with everyone he came in contact with. Although I only knew him for a brief time when he and Marylois lived at Pacific Springs Village, I will always be touched by the love he showed to his entire family. He loved each of you very much and was most happy when all of you were together on your family outings. Although he is gone...

A son could not ask for a better father. He taught me to fish, hunt, and play golf. I always had a companion when it came time to do something outdoors.
He instilled a sense of honor and integrity in me as a youngster.
His life was a storybook one. With the military service and contributions to his family and the community, he was a philanthropist and a pillar of his community.
I will miss you Dad, but know that you are in a better place with your old buddies and family...

Dear Marylois, Sara, John, Joe, Steve and Abbie,
I have such fond memories of him cooking weekend breakfast. I have never laughed so hard before lunchtime. He was a master of wit and one-liners. Turk always spoke fondly of him.
I send heartfelt condolences, love and prayers to you all,

I'll sure miss you dad - but I know you're at peace now after many years with such a debilitating illness. You had a bountiful life surrounded by incredible people who love you. You lit up a room when you entered it and had a gift of understanding the essence of things....endlessly pragmatic and logical but balanced with humor. You would have wanted to be at your own memorial service, wake, burial and reception - we did you proud! I promise we'll take good care of your Loysey. With much love,...

Thinking of all of you. I have not been back to Omaha for any LSU games since 2000, but fondly remember the times we shared. My mother Erma was so fond of all of you. Enjoyed every moment I spent with you and your family. MaryLois - I so enjoyed your book. Sally Ely Teagle - first cousin, Monroe, Louisiana
