Robert Stobaugh

During storm Idalia, I miss my neighbor who was always available to help. I miss him as a helmsman on Emerald Lady. The palm trees he planted on my backyard are thriving. His memory lives on.

I grew up with Russ and met Dr. Stobaugh in 6th grade. I can recall many happy times at their home on the river. He and Mrs. Stobaugh were always very kind to me, and made me feel like one of the family. When I was in nursing school I would see Doc (I always called him Doc) at the hospital sometimes doing his rounds. He was so kind and caring to his patients. He always stopped and talked to me, encouraged me-he must have known secretly how terrified I was, being so young and a new nurse-it...

Bob was a great physician who cared for his patients throughout the years. I had the honor to work with him as a fellow physician. I had the honor to become his Cardiologist and advice him on his health. He was a great neighbor who was always willing to help. In our backyard we have three coconut palm trees given to us and planted by Bob.
He was a fellow sailor. We both shared the love of sailing and the love for the sea. He became my helmsman and sailed with me on Emerald Lady many...

Your dad was a great man, a true legend. He was as with all your family be remembered in the finest way possible.

I am so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. I knew him well, interning with him in 1963 at Mound Park Hospital in St Petersburg ( now Bayfront Medical) . I enjoyed practicing with him in Bradenton. I especially enjoyed playing poker and golf with him. I will surely miss him.

We live upstairs from Dr. Bob at Timber Creek. We would stop and chat with him while our dog Brownie would play with his dog Rosie. He reminded me so much of my dad that I lost in 2015. It was a pleasure knowing him and he will be missed terribly.
