During storm Idalia, I miss my neighbor who was always available to help. I miss him as a helmsman on Emerald Lady.
The palm trees he planted on my backyard are thriving. His memory lives on.

I grew up with Russ and met Dr. Stobaugh in 6th grade. I can recall many happy times at their home on the river. He and Mrs. Stobaugh were always very kind to me, and made me feel like one of the family. When I was in nursing school I would see Doc (I always called him Doc) at the hospital sometimes doing his rounds. He was so kind and caring to his patients. He always stopped and talked to me, encouraged me-he must have known secretly how terrified I was, being so young and a new nurse-it helped me get through it all in some way. They just don't make fellas like him anymore. I'm sure he and Ann are up there sailing around on a diamond sea

Bob was a great physician who cared for his patients throughout the years. I had the honor to work with him as a fellow physician. I had the honor to become his Cardiologist and advice him on his health. He was a great neighbor who was always willing to help. In our backyard we have three coconut palm trees given to us and planted by Bob.
He was a fellow sailor. We both shared the love of sailing and the love for the sea. He became my helmsman and sailed with me on Emerald Lady many times. He helped bring Emerald Lady home from Fort Lauderdale and after that sailed to Mexico and the Caribbean several times.
He had strong opinions, was very conservative and had no difficulty letting you know his opinion.
He was a loving husband and a great father. His family was very important to him. On one of the Mexico trips his three sons came on the trip. All great guys.Alberto
He was a gentleman and a good friend. He will be missed but lives on in our hearts.

I am so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. I knew him well, interning with him in 1963 at Mound Park Hospital in St Petersburg ( now Bayfront Medical) . I enjoyed practicing with him in Bradenton. I especially enjoyed playing poker and golf with him. I will surely miss him.

We live upstairs from Dr. Bob at Timber Creek. We would stop and chat with him while our dog Brownie would play with his dog Rosie. He reminded me so much of my dad that I lost in 2015. It was a pleasure knowing him and he will be missed terribly.

I was a nurse for Dr White and loved seeing Dr Stobaugh bring in different varieties of roses he grew. And at lunch in back room when we could visit I loved when Dr Stobaugh which explain medical cases to us. He was a wonderful teacher. I was blessed to keep in touch thru Laura and our friendship still. We all loved this man. I remember when my sister Shirley was at Alverez Restaurant and Dr and Mrs Ann were there. I think Shirley stayed and talked an hour. We were all glued to them. Loved their company. I am saddened by our loss of him. Laura always told me every time they talked and I felt connected still My prayers for all the wonderful family I have heard about so often for many years. May God Bless
