Not sure what to say?

Dear Carol, I was so saddened to hear about Emmett's death but pleased by your long life together. I have very fond memories of my friendship with you at UT and also of Emmett's weekly lessons. His memorization technique and his unusual "floor practice" were very useful in my teaching.

Bill and I married in '67 and have lived in Dallas for most of those 51 years. Time seems to have gone by in a blink of an eye!

I'm sure that you will find comfort in the joy of your life...

Dear Carol and family,

I am so sorry to hear of Emmett's passing. His teaching was foremost in my training as a pianist. He was also a wonderful person. My heart goes out to all of you. Emmett will be remembered as a matchless pianist and teacher. I know he was proud of his wonderful family as well.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Vokes and send my heartfelt condolences to Carol, his children and grandchildren. Mr. Vokes was my piano teacher and mentor for over fifteen years (1973 on) from high school through undergraduate and graduate school. I am forever grateful for his gifted teaching as well as his many stories from years at Julliard studying under B. Webster and Sasha Gorodnitsky. Mr. Vokes was an amazing teacher! I will never forget him and strive to pass on his...

To Carol and family,

I send you my heartfelt condolences, and I grieve with you all for the loss of this great man. Never a day goes by that I don't think of him and the profound effect he had on me, not only in music making, but in how to live. He was always bigger than life to me, and to so many of his students. He affected positively everybody he met and taught and worked with.

Dear Comes family, I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure your hearts are heavy at this time. May the " God of all comfort" bring comfort to your family (2 Cor 1:3). Your loved one will be at rest and in God's memory.

What an amazing man! I'm sorry I never met him. I have known Meaghan for many years thru my daughter Alyx, but not had the pleasure of meeting the rest of the family.

My deepest condolences.
