1934 - 2014

Robert Allen Wallace, 89, of Belton, Missouri passed away on February 15, 2014. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 18 followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am at the Crossroads United Methodist Church in Belton, Missouri and military funeral honors after the service. Bob was born in Estuary, Saskatchewan, Canada to Luther and Mattie Wallace. He attended Raymore and Belton schools and graduated from Belton High School in 1943. He served in the United States Navy in World War II on board the USS Rehoboth and later attended numerous reunions with shipmates. He married Faye Mosby in December 1946. Bob retired after 33 years with the Gas Service Company in Lees Summit, MO. He was a founding member of Little League Baseball in Belton and spent many years coaching baseball. Bob was a member of the Belton Park Board for over 35 years and was honored with the naming of Wallace Park by the Belton Park Board in 2000. His greatest pleasure in life was following his son and grandsons as they participated in football and baseball in high school and college. He was a member of the Belton Methodist Church (Crossroads UMC) and a charter and life member of the Belton VFW Post 8220. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Hubert Wallace. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Faye Wallace, of the home and a son, Greg (Sherry) Wallace, of Grinnell, Iowa, two grandsons, Seth (Erica) Wallace of Valdosta, Georgia and Adam (Colleen) Wallace of Columbus, Ohio and two great-grandsons.
