Rod and I grew up in the same neighborhood and church group in Wellesley,MA. Even then we knew he was bright and would become someone special. He was one of our group and certainly helped us in our studies as we struggled through geometry and other maths together. Rod was a good friend and liked by all. It was my privilege to know Rod from the time he married Emily. These two very talented people shared love, respect, and many rewarding interests for several years before Rod's illness.
