though i never had Mr Barrick as a teacher...i was lucky enough to be able to serve him and his charming wifer many times over the years...the world lost a really good guy

Mr. Barrick was my favorite teacher in ALL my years of schooling. I can barely express the gratitude I have for this man, that gave me my love of reading and searching for knowledge. He always encouraged me to ask, ask ask questions.

I will never forget him or the friend that I got to make in his son Jason. Your father touched so many lives and please be proud of where you came from as well as where you are.

Jason (Jake), & family,

He was a great friend and also a great teacher. I had him in 7th grade at Taft, as did my sister Vickie. She loved him to and sends her condolences. He actually got me started collecting old newspaper headlines. His picture posted here, is pretty much the way I remember...

Mr. Barrick was my first male teacher. It was 6th grade at Edgefield Elementry. I also had the privelege of having him in 8th grade for English. He was the best teacher I had! He truly loved his work and it showed as he taught us in the classroom. He started every morning with current events with newspaper clippings. For many of us that was our only source of what was happening in our world. He took a very insecure girl and made me feel like I mattered. All who were fortunate to have him for...

One of my favorite teachers throughout my academic career. His humor and his passion for teaching English at Taft Middle School was memorable. RIP Mr. Barrick.
