WARNER -- Roger T. "Pete" Bates died peacefully at home, July 2, 2010, after a long illness, surrounded by his family.

He started a career with Weaver Bothers Construction that lasted 55 years, working in all corners of the state of New Hampshire, first as an equipment operator and eventually as part owner of the company. The completion of the Kancamagus Highway was one of his favorite accomplishments.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Snowmobiling and trail grooming were some of his great pastimes in the winter.

Papa,
I don't even know where to begin. So I guess I will start by saying I love you so much. We never said that enough. I couldn't have asked for a better Grandfather than you.
Many memories have been going through my head over the last few days, but there are two that stand out. I would like to share these with you know. I think I was around 11 and you and Gram took Jason, Adam, and I up to the White Mountains . We went to Cannon, saw the Old Man, but what I remember...

Pete, You are missed beyond anything I can write here. As a kid in the late 50s and early 60s I hunted with you and your Father along with my Father John L. and brother John S. among others. I know Dad thought of you as his best friend, I hope the two of you meet again.
Take care my friend, Bill & brother John S.Jewell, Warner boys. ....
