Roger King Glenn passed away peacefully at home in Lake George, January 22, 2025. He was born on July 6, 1938 at home in North Creek the son of Dr. James Alexander and Ruth King Glenn.

He began his education in North Creek, then went to Glens Falls Junior High, and graduated from Darrow School, New Lebanon, N.Y. Roger then attended Hudson Valley Community College. He was a sergeant in the Army National Guard.

On March 18, 1961 he married Lynda Nitz of Troy, New York. After several years of living in Troy they moved to the Glens Falls area and in 1977 to Lake George.

They had two sons, Timothy Jay and Kurtis Christopher.

Roger began his employment with Mohawk Brush Co in Quality Control. They  moved to Glens Falls in 1970 to manage McNeil Fence and then worked for Woodbury Lumber Co managing Harvest Homes. In 1979, he opened his own business, Canvas Covers Cushions Specialties retiring in 2007

Growing up in North Creek, Roger was an avid skier. He joined the National Ski Patrol in 1968 and over the years served as First Aid Instructor and examiner, Section Chief, and Regional Director. In 1982 he was awarded one of the National Ski Patrols highest honors, a national number.

Roger was a trustee, elder, and faithful member of Caldwell Presbyterian Church. He was a life long church goer and found great strength, love, and power from his relationship with God.

Roger was a loving husband, father, and Gump. Through the years they canoed and camped with friends, skied in several states and in Switzerland, and traveled to many vacation areas. Each fall he loved to hunt in the Adirondacks with his hunting buddies. In their later years, Roger and Lynda took a month in the spring and fall touring the country doing one or two states in depth in their RV, did several cattle drives, and spent a week riding the Apache Trail in New Mexico. He was a cowboy at heart.

Roger is survived by his wife, Lynda; two sons, Tim of Kingsbury, K.C. and his wife Becky of Hudson Falls; loving grandchildren, Kyle and Kendall; brother, Randolph and his wife Barbara; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Life will be held at Caldwell Presbyterian Church, 71 Montcalm Street, Lake George on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11 A.M. followed by a reception in the church hall with the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Caldwell presbyterian Church.

Not sure what to say?

Roger and I were friends going back to grade school, spent a lot of our free time together....good memories. We stayed connected over the years through class reunions. My sincere condolences to Lynda, Randy and his family.

Great guy spent lots of hours with Roger while he performed his magic doing canvas work on new boats at the marinas where I worked . Never a job he couldn't do. Rest in peace job well done down here.

Dear Lynda, Tim, KC, Randy, and family, My memories of your beloved Roger go all the way back to the summer of 1970, the Stroms' first summer in Woodfin Park where our yards looked over each other. Roger's ever-present smile and laughter were the expression of his very soul, and the foundation that our relationships, which started as mere neighbors but grew into deep mutual friendships of love and caring, were built upon. Jobs that needed to be done in the park, Roger was an...

Roger and his family were close friends on Bowman Ave for many years and we will miss him. We had great times hunting and riding motorcycles. He was a good honest friend for ever. Bill & Nancy Field

We enjoyed seeing Roger and Lynda when they visited Bowman Ave. in Glens Falls, after selling their house to us in 1977. We enjoyed living there for the next 44 years. Our sympathy to the Glenn family; may Roger rest in peace.
