Not sure what to say?

We were saddened to learn of Roger's passing today while browsing the USS James Madison web site. Paul & Roger were shipmates in the early sixties. We were good friends then and visited Roger and Diane in Phoenix a few years back. He was a friendly outgoing friend to Linda and I and we always enjoyed the time we spent together. Separated by geography, Paul and Roger corresponded frequently via social media. We will miss him.

A good man, a good brother, husband, father and grandfather. He is missed

Roger was always full of energy and stories. I didn't always understand his acronyms but was always fun to see him use them. His passing is such a loss to the entire family. I really miss our conversations.

Roger and I were on the USS Growler SSG-577 and made 2 deterrent patrols. Roger was a great sailor a good friend and he will surely be missed by all.

Roger was a good man, had a perpetual smile and always willing to help a shipmate. I'll miss getting that call when he would roll through Phoenix.

Roger also worked for the Lake Havasu Unified School District #1 as a Substitute and a Board Member for many years. When he worked as a substitute, he was always willing to work and help out the students. I am so sorry to hear about his passing. May be rest in peace!

Condolences to the Schmitt family. Always enjoyed our times and service at the Lake Havasu Yacht Club. He was devoted to Dianne and everyone at the club enjoyed having dinners with them both. He will be missed.

My brother who I will miss forever
