Rev. Roger A. Smith

Uncle Roger had family; although not by blood, but by love. He had been apart of our family since I can remember. Calls to him had went unanswered for over 2 years, we could only imagine that he was sick and could not return our calls or mail. We are very saddened to hear of his passing.

Roger Smith was a guest pastor at the Nortonville Methodist church in 1959. After his sermon, a friend of mine went forward to kneel at the alter, that gave me the courage to do so as well. Roger and my pastor, Rev. Dick Unkenholz, counselled and prayed with me and I sense that was the step I needed to grow in my faith and response to our Lord Jesus. I had only short conversations with Roger over these past 50 plus years, but he remains an influence and a friend, some one I hope to meet...

I had the pleasure of meeting Roger at the Christian Fellowship Church (in Fairmount City or Alcola Pa.) at the time Leon and Rachel Carrico were the pastor's. He was a guest pastor a few times. I wish his loved ones and Friends my Condolences and May the Good Lord Comfort them for their Loss.
