Roland Edward "Dut" Navarro

Roland "Dut" Edward Navarro was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at the age of 89. He was born on July 24, 1924 to the late Anthony Navarro and Gertrude Mioton Navarro. Beloved husband of Rose Mary Scardino Navarro for 68 years. Loving father of Ronald J. (Cathy), Rodney E. (Julia), Roland G. (Susie) and Denise Robin. Brother of Artemise Dowell and the late Don Navarro. Proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren, 1 late grandchild and 19 great grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Roland was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Meraux, LA for 58 years. He was a proud United States Navy Veteran and a retired commercial fisherman. Roland will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Sunday evening, December 8, 2013 from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM and Monday morning from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM.
