Romulus Mason Obituary
Rom was reared in Fayetteville and graduated from Fayetteville Senior High School in 1957 at age sixteen. After one year at UNC Chapel Hill, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1959. Following completion of his three-year enlistment with an Honorable Discharge, he returned to Fayetteville and graduated from Methodist College in 1966.
He enjoyed a career of thirty-three years in casualty insurance claims, which initially involved numerous promotional transfers across six states with Aetna Life & Casualty. He was living in Seattle, WA, working with a John Hancock subsidiary when he retired in 1999. This allowed him to move back to the land of pork barbecue and cooked vegetables.
