Barbara was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, as well as the Atlanta Braves. Barbara is survived by her husband, Robert Flippo; close friends, Robin Reed and Howard Johnston of Richmond; as well as a niece, Kathy of Lakeland, Fla.; and numerous cousins. Burial will be at sea. There will be no service per Barbara's request. Contributions may be made to the Navy Relief Society or any Diabetes connected charity.
