Ronald Bernard Obituary

BERNARD Ronald F. Bernard, born January 31, 1947 in New Orleans, passed away Sunday September 14, 2008 at Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Mr. Bernard is a retired New Orleans Fire Department Captain, and a veteran of the US Navy. He is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bernard and is preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Katherine Romero Bernard. He is the father of Kim B. Lawson and Elizabeth B. Martin and the grandfather of Kourtney, Brendan, Kelsey, Maison, Kaine, Cameron & Katie. He is survived by 5 siblings, Joseph Bernard, Barbara Bernard, Pam Touchet, Debra LeBoeuf, and Mary Macaluso. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Bernard lived in Hoover, Alabama for the past three years, but was a life long resident of New Orleans. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 2 PM, visitation will be from 11 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Michael Special School, 1522 Chippewa Street, New Orleans, La. 70130.
