I'm so sorry to hear of Ron's passing. He was my 8th grade teacher over 20 years ago. He was a wonderful teacher who really cared about his students. - Kathy Herwig

I had Mr. Stoeckig for 6th grade. He was a great teacher! I remember his laugh and sense of humor. I never heard a teacher laugh or tell jokes before. I remember having a crush on him from that moment on. My thoughts go out to his life partner, family and friends.

I am saddened to hear of Mr. Stoeckig's passing. He was one of our favorite teachers at shields grammer school class of 1980. Rest in peace

Mr Stoeckig was my 8th grade teacher at Shields in 1979. He was an amazing teacher and always encouraged me to be the best student and person I could be. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

I am saddened to hear of Mr. Stoeckig's passing. He was my 8th grade teacher @ Shields School ( class of 1979) We reunited i believe in 2003 and he would send me a Christmas card every year. He was a wonderful teacher and man that knew how to keep his class in line :) May God wrap his arms around all of you's and Doug with peace and strength and cherish the memories you have made with Mr Stoeckig. Rest in Peace <3

I have no idea how long ago he started this tradition, but when he retired the responsibility was passed on to me (the newest teacher to join the 6th grade team). I have kept this tradition going since Ron retired. It is a favorite field trip among the...
