Some of those included the Business Professional Women's Foundation, the Women's Crisis Center, in Belleville, and the Supper Club, where she was able to travel and got together with friends on occasion. Her most precious memories were those spent with her family. She was a loving, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and friend. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 26 years, Tom Brown; her daughter, Carol Lynn Alvarado; her parents, Francis Pippit and Mable (nee Wilson); and her sister, Patricia Spencer.

Surviving to cherish memories are her loving children, Richard (Cynthia) Croak, of Smithton, IL, Lisa (Tom) Vardaman, of Caseyville, IL, and Jeff (Tracy McElligott) Croak, of Highland, IL; son-in-law, Robert "Chico" Alvarado; her grandchildren, Edward (Jamie) Croak, Sarah (TJ) Zych, Bryan Bradshaw, Alexander Croak, Ashley Sapienza and Mark (Brandy) Alvarado; her great-grandchildren, Audrey, Charlie and Henry Zych, Ryan Croak, Ava and Ailise Bradshaw, and Parker and Ruby Alvarado; her step-children, Richard Brown, James (Mary) Brown, and Keith (Becky) Brown; her brother-in-law, Ralph Spencer; and a number of dear relatives and friends.
