CHANTILLY, Va. — Rosemary Teresa Mataloni, of Chantilly, Va., (formerly of West Pittston) passed away at Fairfax Hospital on March 10, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born to the late Michael and Anna Weirbowski on April 22, 1939. She graduated from West Pittston High School, where she was valedictorian.
Beloved wife of Raymond J. Mataloni Sr. (formerly of Pittston), loving mother to Raymond Mataloni Jr., and Kelly Beck; former mother-in-law of Lisa Mataloni; and cherished grandmother of Alexander and Benjamin Mataloni.
She was lovingly married to her husband for 58 years. The couple enjoyed many beautiful trips to Maui, Hawaii, to celebrate their relationship.
Rosemary was retired from her job as a cashier with the Virginian Retirement Community, where she was treasured by her coworkers and by residents.
Rosemary had a gentle and giving personality that brought joy to everyone around her. She enjoyed spending time with her cherished grandsons and joining friends for lunch dates and playing bingo.
She is survived by her husband, her son, her daughter and her two grandsons. Rosemary will be deeply missed and remembered fondly by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held later this year at Nativity Catholic Church of Burke, Va.
