Roy Sibille

Roy Sibille, of Covington, Louisiana, died on Monday, September 26, 2022 at the age of 96. Roy was the beloved husband for 71 years of Lois Conkerton Sibille; loving father of Terry Sibille Meehan (Michael), Stuart F. Sibille, Steven L. Sibille (Monica), and the late Thomas John Sibille; brother of Lou Wilda Andrus, Winfred (Velma), Dennis (Florence), Darrell, Paul (Jennifer), and the late Madeline Sibille Korn, Lil Sibille Leonhard, Carlys C. (Billie), Gordain A. (Sue), Stanley, Fredrick (Doris), and Irwin; grandfather of Jeffrey S. Meehan (Crystal) and Sean P. Meehan (Gina); and son of the late Leo and Pauline Laverne Sibille. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Billie, Sue, and Doris Sibille, and numerous nieces and nephews. Roy was born in Sunset, Louisiana on December 30, 1925. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during World War II, and went on to receive a B.S. in Engineering from SLI/ULL. His career as an electrical engineer spanned 40 years with LP&L (now Entergy). Roy was a devout Catholic. He also held memberships with Civitans (Kenner), Kenner Rotary, IEEE, and Jefferson Parish BESE Board. Roy was an avid camper (C'est La Vie), and loved to travel the world, especially on cruises. He was an enthusiastic stock market investor, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 2:00PM. A visitation will be at the funeral home beginning at 11:30AM. The interment will follow the Mass at All Saints Mausoleum (in Metairie Cemetery).
