Ruby Geneva Bailey age 84 of Knoxville, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2018 at Park West Medical Center surrounded by family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Strawberry Plains, TN. Preceded in death by husband, John Wallace Bailey, Sr.; siblings, Roy Cook, Mary Lou "Cookie" Satterfield; sisters-in-law, Bertie Cook and Mary Cook; brother-in-law, Kenny Satterfield. Survived by sons, John Wallace Bailey, Jr. (Tonia) and Bobby Bailey; daughters, Patti Bailey (Nora), Debra Bailey and Becca Bailey (Weston); grandchildren, Mandy Bailey Alexander (Blake), Hannah Bailey, Holly Lawson (David), Kevin Hicks; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Rachel, Isaac and Emory; brothers, Bill Cook (Kathy) and Ed Cook; sister, Jane Lusk (Gene); special friends and extended family. She was an avid UT Football and Lady Vols Basketball fan, enjoyed reading, camping and spending time with family and friends. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Wednesday at Weaver's Chapel with the service to follow at 7 pm. Pastor Mark McGill officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 am Thursday at Strawberry Plains Cemetery for an 11 am interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Pat Summitt Foundation, 520 W. Summit Hill Dr., Knoxville, TN 37902. Condolences may be left at www.weaverfuneralservices.com.
