Ruby Chance Obituary
Ms. Ruby Jean Chance was born on December 29th, 1952
in San Antonio, Texas. Her parents were, Willie Chance and
Christine Johnson Chance. She went home to be with the Lord
on July 27th, 2015. Ms. Ruby Jean Chance graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School, in San Antonio, Texas. She attended St. Phillips College to obtain certification in Cosmetology and medical assistant.
In the year of 1978, Ms. Ruby Jean Chance was a dedicated
and loyal employee at the San Antonio State Hospital. She retired in 2007with 29 years of service. After retirement she moved to
Charlotte, NC. Ms. Ruby Jean Chance joined Word Life Center International Church, in 2008. She loved the Lord and praising Him. You could catch her "raising the roof" in church displaying that
praise. Ms. Ruby Jean Chance was proud grandmother and mother.
She brought her generosity, jokes, laughter, loving big heart, catchy
phrases and beautiful smile everywhere she went. Her nickname that characterizes some of these traits was "Sweet" Ruby Jean. Ms. Ruby Chance always had sharing in mind when she came across anyone, (even if it was for the first time she met you). Some of the sharing she did was of sharing God's word. She always
loved giving a scripture(s) out that she felt would assist you.
Left to cherish her memories of her life are her a child - a daughter, Tamara Holley; a son-in-law, Brian Holley, her two grandchildren, BreShawn Holley and Brianna Holley; her childhood and best friend Velma Green of San Antonio, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Service to Celebrate her Life will be held 2:00pm Saturday, August 8, 2015 in The Paul Helton Chapel of Forest Lawn West. Visitation will be
held one hour prior to the service. On-line condolences may
be placed at www.forestlawnwest.com.

I sincerely appreciate all the love and condolences from everyone. She truly was one of a kind and yes, the first "Madea". You only get one mother and mine was an awesome one. She was the vessel that bought me into this world with such a HUGE giving HEART! The biggest and best cheerleader a daughter could ever dream of having. I love you for the life you lived, being the vessel that carried me and values you instilled in me. My heartaches, but I know you are in a better place. Love you mom!

Mama Ruby will be greatly missed. I believe the love she shared is in her daughter to carry on. I'm so honored to have known her a rare gem. Tamara be encouraged and may God continue to strengthen you.

RIP! I still can't believe Rudy is gone. I remember the good times we had when I took her to the clinics along with her clients and we would speak up a storm. She would make you forget any problems you had as soon as you got close to her since she was so much fun to be around. I sure wish I had gone back to visit with Ruby and have one last word with her, but it's too late for that to happen.

RUBY JEAN AND I GREW UP TOGETHER PRACTICALLY IN THE SAME HOUSE. WE WENT TO SCHOOL TOGETHER, SHE WAS QUITE A BALL OF FUN, ESPECIALLY IN SCHOOL. EVERYONE LOVED THEM SOME RUBY JEAN. SHE WILL TRULY BE MISSED.

RIP Ruby Chance! I worked with Ruby Chance while I was employed at the State from 1970 to 1980. What a wonderful person she was and very friendly, and smiling all the time. I never saw her mad at anyone because she was a person that enjoyed her work. She treated the clients with dignity and cared for them.

OMG Tamara this is so beautiful and the pictures. Girl I am still crying. I will miss her so much. She was such a bright light in my life. Although I did not grow with her, when we did meet as cousins, it was as if I knew her my entire life. My family loved her so much. My step dad was so happy when she would come over and chat with the family and just keep things going and full of engergy. You and your family now have your own beautifuly angel to watch over you. Her love for you and your kids is one that will never go away and from time to time you will hear and feel her presents. Her physical person is gone but she is spiturally here forever. Love you all.
