When Mother was a teenager, Rubye would take her home with her for a week's visit during the summer, and Mother loved getting to play with Billie when she was a small child. You don't know me but I knew your mother when she was working at the Caddo-Shreveport Health Unit when it was located on Kings Hwy. What a dear person she was to me when I first started working at the Health Unit. I had never worked in Public Health and what a dear, sweet person she was to me while she was teaching me all about Family Planning. I will never forget her. Know that you are all in my prayers during this time.

Sweet Herschel, I just happended to check the online Shreveport Times and saw you Beautiful Mother. I remember what a gracious, loving, and tender personality she had. Just like YOU. Please know You and your sister are in my prayers that God will surround you with comfort. I truly know what it's like to lose a Mother.
