I remember Rufus Houston as my realtor when I brought my home 17 years ago. My sympathy to the family. He will be remembered as a kind person with a sweet spirit.

Rufus- You will be dearly missed by every member of the mixed doubles team that you guided through local and sectional championships right up to regionals in Maine. Thank you for being a great leader, a calming influence, and a good friend.

I experienced great sadness when I learned of Rufus' passing. During our years at Central State, as well as the trials and tribulations of pledging Kappa Alpha Psi, the special bond we shared will never be forgot. He anchored the Tenacious Ten by his line name: "Rufus Houston. I'm on the end of the Tenacious Ten. Sky high, Phi Nu Pi, 'til the day we die." He has passed to that golden shore. God bless him.
