Rufus,
I have no idea why you left the planet. I do know that our spirits will experience each other's energy frequency again.
Until then, know that the person that you were, was truly loved and respected by many.
We miss you,

Rufus- You will be dearly missed by every member of the mixed doubles team that you guided through local and sectional championships right up to regionals in Maine. Thank you for being a great leader, a calming influence, and a good friend.

I experienced great sadness when I learned of Rufus' passing. During our years at Central State, as well as the trials and tribulations of pledging Kappa Alpha Psi, the special bond we shared will never be forgot. He anchored the Tenacious Ten by his line name: "Rufus Houston. I'm on the end of the Tenacious Ten. Sky high, Phi Nu Pi, 'til the day we die." He has passed to that golden shore. God bless him. To live in the hearts of those we leave behind is not to die. Goodbye my brother. I will meet you again some day.

It was a pleasure observing your since of purpose for developing youself as well as others. Though you will be missed hear on earth momentarily, your spirit now one with the "Father" lives forever in Him. That's the "beauty" of your homecoming, for it gives those of us that remain on earth, an opportunity to witness the resurrection as fullfilled by Christ Jesus and promised to all who believe in His ultimate triumph of life over death and upon doing so, proceed to conduct their lives accordingly.
Your brother in Christ Jesus.
