Russ was a very good friend of mine back when we went to Salmen High School (in Slidell, Louisiana) together briefly in the mid 70's. Actually he was like a big brother to me! Even though we never kept in touch through the years, I will always remember our friendship! Rest in peace Russ!

If this were paper it would have tear stains on it. Russ was a wonderful loyal friend to everyone who knew him. His gift for listening, his encouraging hugs and great laugh will be sorely missed. He was such a support for the local congregation. When Russ is resurected first he will greet his family then he will ask when and where his next building project starts. My prayers are with the Claxton family and for everyone whose hearts are so heavy now. Love, Richard and Camille Norris

Russ was a great brother, father, friend, and example. I will never forget the memories we all had down in Hattiesburg on our "family" visits, his hilarious timeless jokes, and that time we tailgated at Arrowhead at the Chiefs game. My love goes out to the family. How thankful we are to have a hope for a real future! Sophia and I love you all!

I have known Russ my entire life, we grew up as family friends in Kansas City, then Slidell louisiana, and still stayed in touch. He was a great friend, and his sons are now great friends to my son. I have many hilarious memories of Russ, like the wrecked boat incident,on the bayou, just too funny. I do look forward to seeing him again soon.My love and prayers are being sent via this posting to all of the family. Love you.
