WHAT A GENTLEMAN AND A SCHOLAR.
RUSSELL ATTENDED A FEW LUNCHEONS ON HOLY THURSDAY OF THE TABS CLUB, HOWEVER COULD NOT IN RECENT YEARS BECAUSE OF HIS DEACON DUTIES. I SAW HIM AT LOUIE'S HDWE RECENTLY AND HE SAID "BE SURE I AM ON THE INVITATION LIST FOR TABS THIS HOLY THURS BECAUSE I HAVE RETIRED."
I HAVE KNOWN RUSSELL FOR OVER 50 YEARS.
THE GENERAL WILL CERTAINLY BE REMEMBERED AT OUR TABS LUNCHEON FOR HOLY THURSDAY.
OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND PRAYERS TO THE FAMILY AND MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PIECE.
THE CEREMONY AT ST.MATHEW'S WAS DESERVING AND OUTSTANDING.

To the LeBlanc family,
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Brigadier General LeBlanc. It was a privilege for the soldiers of Fort Polk to render honors for him and most appropriately with combat veterans from the 1st Mission Enhanced Brigade consisting of combat engineers like BG LeBlanc. These soldiers returned from Afghanistan less than six months ago and as he knew so very well from Sicily to across Europe, the hardship, bond, and brotherhood shared hardship brings. Thank you to the family for sharing his life of this exceptional soldier, husband, father, and friend.

John and I are so sorry for your loss. We will certainly miss hearing those wonderful jokes Uncle Russell was always prepared to share. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Please know that we were also very sad that we could not be with you at this time. John had a terrible virus that left him very weak for two days. However, please know that we are praying God will give you the strength you need during this most difficult time.
Take care and we send you our deepest sympathy and our love.

Mr LeBlanc was a very dear man. He helped my father, Guy Beckler, prepare for confirmation in his seventies. They were both WWII veterans and had a lot to share. May God bless Russell for all the good he has done for so many, and for all his service to our Lord.

Dear Ms. Mickey and family, May God bless you with his peace, joy, love and strength at this time. We will all miss the Deacon so much. Our family has had such a beautiful sacramental history with him that we will forever cherish. It began about 34 years ago when he gave a scruffy teenage boy lessons to be baptized into the Catholic faith. The following year he married me to that boy. Through the years he baptized our 4 children, as well as baptizing and marrying countless other family members. He is Godfather to our youngest, and I always told him she must be so spiritual because she has you for her Godfather. She also has his great sense of humor. We shared a very memorable day with him most recently when Jamie chose him as her Confirmation sponsor, upholding the Catholic connection of Baptism and Confirmation. He was so proud of her and all she did to prepare for Confirmation, but especially when she told Bishop Carmon about her patron saint -Francis- and he saw how impressed the Bishop was with her testimony. They were both so happy that day, as we all were. We have all been deeply touched by the Deacon's joyful nature, his appreciative spirit, and his gentle touch - which can be so comforting like being touched by Jesus. We will truly miss his physical presence here, but are so grateful to have had him as a part of our lives, and know we will be continually blessed by his loving spirit. Like Jamie said smiling through her tears, "Mom, at least we know where he is now - and you know he's telling all his jokes up there!" God bless you, we love you, the Gommel family and co.
