Not sure what to say?

loved Rusty and spent many years in high school and college as his roommate. He was "one of a kind".

Rusty was a true gentleman who was liked by everyone he came across. He was always dedicated to working tirelessly for his district. He never let his handicap hold him back at all even though I know it was a struggle at times. RIP my friend.

My sincere condolences to the Kidd family. Rusty had a great sense of humor and was always a gentleman to me and other Senate staff I worked with. He always asked about my son when he saw me. May he rest in peace.

Rusty was a good man with a big heart who never met a stranger. A talented multi-sport athlete, he and I were in Coach Doug Dickey's first football recruiting class at The University of Tennessee in 1965. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. My sincere condolences to his family-Brantley

I worked at the Medical Association of Georgia with Rusty and never saw a day that he wasn't friendly, helpful and agreeable. He never seemed to care what prominence, class, or wealth you had--he was friendly and helpful to everyone. I loved his vigor for life, his constant friendliness, the smile he put on your face, and his constant generosity. I was no one special, but he treated me as if I was the most important person who saw that day. I haven't seen Rusty in a long time, but am I...

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

It was my honor to serve as a legislative aide during Rusty's time in office and I was always impressed by his smile and optimism. It was an inspiration to the rest of us.

Julie and I enjoyed working with Rusty very much as R.J. Reynolds lobbyists, He was a true gentleman and friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Ron and Julie Hein
