Ruth, a beautiful redhead, sat behind me in school. Jack Bassler was our teacher for grades 6-8. Ruth was in grade 8 & I was in grade 6. She was so smart, whispered the answers when the other classes had questions. We both moved on with our lives and never saw each other again. I look back on our early school years and the unique and wonderful education we received and friends we made, in that one-room school house in Lewistown Valley many years ago.
