I worked at Doctors Hospital for many years. While Dr. Purdy was still an active physician. She ALWAYS spoke to those who greeted her in the hallways. I was never one of her patients, I knew others who were. They always spoke highly of her. They LOVED her. She will be/IS missed.

Please know how very much Dr. Purdy was loved, respected, and admired. I owe my very existance to her; she introduced my parents! Dr. Purdy was a life long family friend, colleague, and personal physician for the Heller Family and will be sorely missed.

I first met Dr. Purdy when she cared for my Mother. As a critical care nurse, I later had the priviledge of practicing beside her. She was one of the most giving people I have ever met.

Ruth was first my physician and then my friend. There are many fond memories of times shared at "the Lake", golf outings and delicious meals which included many steaks. I am sure she is enjoying walking the other shore with Sue and talking with The Great Physician.

Dear Purdy Family~
My heart-felt sympathy on the death of your very accomplished and well respected Ruth. I know you don't know me but we must be relatives of some sort as my father John Meriweather Purdy was also born in Kilbuck Ohio.
I am sorry I never had the privilege of knowing Ruth and figuring out our family connection.
Sincerely,
Mary Kay Purdy

Dr. Purdy set the standard for my requirements for a doctor. I have yet to find a physician that meets that high standard of care.

My prayers are with you, and thank you for sharing Dr Ruth with all of us. Myself and so many other women who studied to be doctors, and did not quite fulfill our dreams, were made proud that Dr Ruth did, What a wonderful human being. She will be missed by so many of us.

Dr. Ruth Purdy was an inspiration for all of us and a champion for people with diabetes in our community, especially those in need. She treated everyone with dignity and respect, and was a tireless advocate for social justice. Her presence at our agency brought out the best in all of us, and helped us to do our very best work. I remember so much about Dr. Purdy. When she first came to endoscopy at Doctors to do EGD's we placed a towel just so on her lap to make sure her beautiful clothes would not be soiled. She was a wonderful person and will be missed by many. Sandy Haulter
