Not sure what to say?

My best during this difficult time. I met Ruth in September 1969 in Seattle when she was about to recruit apple pickers. A bond was formed and that bond was why I traveled to Alaska a year later. We last visited last August.

Ruth was an amazing person in so many ways. She fought for social justice her whole life and accomplished so much. I (and I'm sure all her friends) experienced her death as a painful loss. It's hard to imagine not having the wonderful Ruth with us any longer. Ruth, I will always miss you. Jim Parker, Asheville, N.C.

Thank you for a life fully lived, Ruth. You have been a wonderful model of grit, honesty, humor and compassion. The world is a better place for your being here, and you have been an inspiration and example to so many, your legacy will live on. You will not be forgotten.

Grateful for the life and witness of our dear Ruth.

Smart, kind, interested and interesting. May we all have a life such as Ruth's to honor. I will miss her each week when I walk through the doors of AUUF.

A beautiful woman with an infectious smile and quick wit, she showed us how to work for social, environmental, racial, and economic justice.

A very kind woman, fully used to folks remarking on her aliveness. I will miss her smile & quick wit Hope mine last as long.
