My best during this difficult time. I met Ruth in September 1969 in Seattle when she was about to recruit apple pickers. A bond was formed and that bond was why I traveled to Alaska a year later. We last visited last August.

Ruth was an amazing person in so many ways. She fought for social justice her whole life and accomplished so much. I (and I'm sure all her friends) experienced her death as a painful loss. It's hard to imagine not having the wonderful Ruth with us any longer. Ruth, I will always miss you. Jim Parker, Asheville, N.C.

My thoughts go out to all of you who knew Ruth. My mother and father, Anna and Paul Dudak, were good friends with both Jack and Ruth. My mother kept in contact with Ruth after Jack died. The last time I saw Ruth and her daughters was a year after my mother died in l995 when they visited Burling Street. I was glad we could talk over the memories we all had about friends and family. It was a real fluke finding Ruth's obit and I was saddened to find out about her death. See was quite a lady! My
condolences go out to all who knew her.

Ruth was one of the most beautiful people I have known. If someone was being discriminated against here or abroad Ruth would step up and help them with kindness and understanding. Ruth was our guest of honor at our Bernie Kickoff party last spring. She will be much missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire us to work for social, environmental, racial, and economic justice. I love you, Ruth! Thanks for being so kind to my brother, Charles. Now I believe you are with him and your beloved husband who you looked forward to seeing again. Some day I look forward to seeing you again too!

The last time I saw Ruth was at the Refugee pop up picnic in Mt. View last summer. She signed the Dunleavy Recall with her zest for political commentary. She will be so missed. My love and condolences to Lynn, Marion and Ruths Family.

Ah, Ruthie....your spirit will live on in the memories and smiles of many. You lived every day until you were ready to go off on a new journey...and just like you did everything, you chose your path. I am glad to have known you...Never did I expect when Lenore in San Jose, CA gave me your number in Alaska in the early 80's what a treasure I would find. You have touched the lives of many many many many.....Thanks for your contribution to peace justice and love. Rock On..Ruthie
