Ruthie Pitio Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 3, 2018.
Ruthie Pitio, 27, passed away on November 1, 2018. A beloved, beautiful and caring daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend, she was very much loved and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving mother and step-father, Jean and Steven Kahn, her Aunt Myra and Uncle Tom Parker, Uncle Marc and Aunt Mary Jane Person and cousins Jeffrey, Jenni and Jackie Person. She is predeceased by her father, Bohdan Pitio, and her grandparents Edward and Ruth Person, and Anatol and Margarete Pitio.

Ruthie was a Graduate of Hunter College in New York and worked and lived in Manhattan. She had a soft spot in her heart for all animals, especially her rescue cats. She enjoyed art, fashion, Broadway shows, dancing and cooking. But Ruthie's happiest times were those she spent with the people she loved.

Ruthie was fiercely independent, courageous, smart, adventurous and loved to laugh. She was always up for a political discussion or lending her support to someone in need. Her most memorable characteristic was her compassion for those she cared about. In her too short time on this earth, Ruthie's warm and loving ways touched everyone who knew her, and the beautiful memories of Ruthie and her love will sustain us through our grief.

A funeral service will he held for Ruthie on Monday, November 5 at 1pm at Bloomfield Cooper Jewish Chapels, 2130 Highway 35, Ocean, NJ 07712 followed by burial at Beth Olam Memorial Park, 1235 Highway 70 West, Lakewood, NJ 08701. People are invited to sit Shiva with the family immediately following the burial on Monday. The family will also be sitting Shiva through Saturday November 10. Visitors will be accepted from 3-7pm on Tuesday through Friday, and from noon-6pm on Saturday, November 10.

In Ruthie's honor the family asks that you make donations in her name to either All Fur Love (http://www.allfurlove.org/donate) or Deborah Hospital Foundation (https://www.deborahfoundation.org/donate).
