I knew Hayes for many years as a result of our interactions at the range. We often had very easygoing conversations about almost any topic and indeed became good friends in a very true sense. We never exchanged phone numbers, however we only played together once on a course as a result of being paired up at Spooky Brook, but there was always a tacit understanding that we would always soon see each other again “at the range” for another one of our very enjoyable practice and gab...

The MacArthur family was pivotal in helping me start my professional career. I worked at their appliance store in the early 80s. It was always a warm and friendly environment. I remember Hayes as being particularly cheerful. Thank you Hayes, I wish I got to know you better.

Hayes will be missed by his many friends. I remember when he and his brother Craig ran the appliance store in Somerville and interacted with my husband Roger who founded Sieberg Appliance. Every year Hayes played in the Chamber Golf Outing, many of which I ran. Roger and I send our condolences to the family.

So sorry to hear of Hayes passing. We were competitors in softball with MacArthurs vrs. McLachlan! Many years later young Hayes played with us.
For over 20 years I played with Hayes in the Chamber Golf Tournament. Always had fun and enjoyed our conversations. Great guy!
I will miss him. RIP
