Sally Byrnes Houser

As the years pass by, snippets of wisdom that Sally shared come to mind. I wish she were still here on earth to continue to learn from. We will be reunited one day with our Carmelite family in heaven.

I was deeply saddened to learn just one hour ago of Sally's passing. Sally and I were close friends way back in 1959 and 1960 when we were finishing our high school years. We managed to make contact more recently which brought back a flood of memories of the magical moments we spent together. She was a very special person.

I knew Sally while working for the VNA. She was such a sweet woman and it was a pleasure knowing her. It can be so hard to face the first year without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through.

After knowing Sally for too short a time, our entire family has grown to love her. We will miss her smile and her gentle ways. Her strong belief in our Lord has been an inspiration to all.

Thank you Sally for your dedication and contributions to the St. Joseph Discalced Carmelites as Formation Director and later as President. And thank you for being a dear friend. You will be missed!

Although my friendship with Sally was only for a short time she greatly impressed me with her love and kindness. Rest in peace beautiful one.
