Did not know Sam well, but I knew he and Gretchen as very fine people. I met them through Barry Lee and my wife and I attended a number of Penn State football games with them over a number of years. I continued to correspond with them at Christmas time every Christmas since. People like Sam and Gretchen will be impossible to replace.
