Samuel F. Carr

1935 - 2022

Samuel F. Carr of Morrisdale, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022.

Sam was born May 7, 1935 in Morrisdale to Leonard and Esther (Curley) Carr.

Sam is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and our mother, Gretchen (Hauck) Carr.

Sam is survived by his children, Roxie, and her husband, Stephen Watters of Powell, OH, Kevin, and his wife Tracy Mayhew of Norfolk, VA, and Teresa, and her husband Carmelo Perrote, of Valladolid, Spain. Also surviving are Sam's grandchildren, Laura (Brandon) Straka of Worthington, OH, and Javier and Anabel Perrote of Valladolid, Spain, and great grandson, Stanley Moore of Worthington, OH. Sam is also survived by his brother Sandy and his wife, Alnora (Wise) of Morrisdale, as well as his dear companion, Arlene Hurtack of Morrisdale.

Sam was a proud graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, graduating with an Agricultural Engineering Degree. The majority of his career was spent with Massey Ferguson Company and Mack Trucks. His years with Mack Truck allowed his world-wide travel to 64 different countries. Sam always stayed busy donating his time and energy to the Shriners, Masons, and driving children to the Shriner Hospitals. He also was involved in the Big Brothers-Big Sisters organization, as well as transporting patients to their VA appointments. Because of his agricultural roots and his love of tractors, he was heavily involved with the PA Farm Bureau and the Antique Tractor Association.

Family and friends will be received at the Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Allport on March 26, 2022, from 2:00 until time of service at 3:00. Pastor Chris Pfleegor will officiate our service.

In lieu of flowers, our family suggests memorial contributions be made in Sam's name to the Shriners Children Hospitals.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Strange and Weaver Funeral Home in Morrisdale.
