My friend Sam Lacabanne, you'll be missed from all of us at The Hearth. 4701 Geary Blvd. RIP, Your friend, Ron Gong

For Standup Sam Retired officer, soft-spoken and steady, Molloy´s knew where to find him - standing at his favorite spot At the end of the bar with an ever easy smile The jukebox was his thing... The Doors echoing throughout: "Into this house we´re born, into this world we´re thrown." He´d lift a Stinger to toast to those around and the room nodded in return. At home, his two beloved cats provided quiet, faithful company. Save a stool beside him for Jan, his sister-in-blue; some...

Fond memories of Sam after high school...(we used to meet almost every day with the other 45th avenue neighborhood kids.... fooling around with $200 cars we used to buy, driving to Lake Tahoe, Reno, Yosemite and points east and south...... spending friday nights on broadway street walking up and down, then a hamburger at Clown Alley around midnight ! and many more memories........

It was fun running into Sam at Fahey´s bar back in the day. After having a few Pops, Sam liked to talk about his days sailing to the various ports in Asia, South America and Europe. I always enjoyed our conversations. Sam was also proud about being a member of the San Francisco Police Department. Rest in Peace my friend!

Rest in Peace, Sammy. I enjoyed the times we shared a libation or two at one of your favorite watering holes. Godspeed my friend
