Not sure what to say?

Dear Mrs. Stevenson, when I recieved the new of Sammy's passing I was so very sad. Sammy and I were in the Wiz together at Central Piedmont Community College Summer Theater where he played Scarcrow and I was part of the cast playing a munchkin and every thing else that was part of the production. Sammy was caring and funny. I thank God Sammy enriched my life for the short time he was in it. I remember Sammys' laugh; How I loved to hear it! Earth has no sorrow that heaven can not heal.

My deepest sympathy to the family. Sammy was a close and dear friend to my mother and our family. They worked together many years and developed a great relationship. It saddens me deeply to know that they are now both gone from this earth(as she passed in August of 2004), however I am comforted knowing that they are no longer suffering here on earth . They will both be greatly missed.

Sarah, my sympathy and love go out to you and your family. Losing a loved one is never easy. May the love that surrounds you be a source of comfort at this time. Take strength in your memories and have faith in tomorrow.

Thinking of you in your time of sorrow.

To the Stevenson Family:
My deepest sympathy and sincere thanks for his rich life. Sammy and I played together in the neighborhood, attended school at West Charlotte and loved music. He was also quite a pool player. I will miss Sammy for the great smile and enthusiam for life.
May God Bless and keep Him..

I remember Sammy from The Ebony Group and Company. I recall his beautiful baritone voice,I was the youngest of the vocal component of Ebony Group, While rehearsing and performing with Sammy I gained a great appreciation for his vocal instrument and the opera. God needed his voice in his choir. To Mrs. Stevenson "Be not dismayed, whatever, God will take care of you" Although it has been some years since I had contact with Sammie, I will miss the his Golden Voice.

Sammy will be missed by so many people. He sang at my wedding and we will always cherish the video of his singing the "Lord's Prayer". He was such a genuine and nice person. Our prayers are with his family and friends.

My husband Fred and I meet Sammy two years ago through Thomas Moore in a small choir group called Joyful Voices at Myers Park. My first name is Sandra but I go by Sam and Sammy thought that was just a wonderful way to be connected. From the start he made us feel like family. Not just his singing but by his personality and warmth as a person of God he connected with our hearts. He will be missed but not forgotten. He will always be one of God's high angels to us. May God's blessings,...

My prayers are with you and your family during this time. Sammie's voice is a part of the Heavenly Choir and will always be heard and enjoyed.

To the Stevenson Family you are in my thoughts and prayers. Look to Jesus for comfort and rest. Sammie was a wonderful friend, so compassionate and loving. I pray for your strength during this time of sorrow. May God Bless. The Cochran Family
