Not sure what to say?

I got to know Sam playing tennis at the Mellon Bubble. I loved playing with him and our conversations afterwards. I was doing a film about transplant surgeon Dr. Tom Starzl who was his own amazing character and Sam had great stories to tell. I also had a medical issue which he helped talk me through-- and I learn how nice it was to have a briliant pathologist as a friend. Sam also talked lovingly about his kids and I hope they are doing okay. As Fred Rogers used to say, you never get...

Sam was a cherished friend and neighbor, and a wise advisor during a family health crisis. We shall dearly miss his kind and generous presence. May his memory be for a blessing.

May his memory be a blessing

I remember Sam from our Cross Country School days. Nice guy - soft spoken and smart. A good friend. I wish his memory continues to serve as a blessing to all that were lucky to have known him. Rest In Peace my friend.

My deepest sympathies. Sam was a mentor and a friend and was a unique member of the pathology community. He will be sorely missed.

Zichrono Livracha - May Dr. Yousem's beloved memory serve as an everlasting blessing and inspiration, and his neshama a loving guide always to all he knew. Hamakom Y'nachim Otam B'toch Sh'ar Aveilei Tsiyon Virushalayim - May you be comforted among all the mourners of Zion, Jerusalem, and the world. With Sincerest Condolences, Chaplain Michael Zoosman, NIH
