Sandor Paskin Obituary
AGE: 78 • West Long Branch
Sandor "Sandy" Paskin MD passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 6th. He was born in Philadelphia, PA February 1, 1939. He graduated from Central High School and was an honors graduate of Villanova University. Dr. Paskin received his medical degree in 1963 from Hahnemann Medical College (now Drexel University College of Medicine). He completed his residency in Anesthesiology and fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care from The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Paskin served as a Senior Assistant Surgeon with the rank of Lieutenant Commander in the United States Public Health Service at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda Maryland. He was a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and was a fellow of the American College of Anesthesiologists.
Dr. Paskin came to Monmouth Medical Center in 1969 and served as chairman and program director of the Department of Anesthesiology. He was an associate professor of clinical anesthesiology at Drexel University College of Medicine. He also served as Treasurer of the Medical Staff and served on the many clinical and peer-related committees including the Executive Committee, the Board of Trustees Finance Committee, and special task forces for day-stay surgery and surgical planning. He was honored with the medical staff's Pinnacle Award for Extraordinary Service in 2003. Before retiring in January of this year, he was the Medical Director of Perioperative Medicine at MMC.
Dr. Paskin was an avid fisherman and loved visiting the Florida Keys. He was a past-President of the Ocean Beach Club and was very proud and honored for his Silver Card as an Honorary Member of the Long Branch P.B.A. Local No. 10. Dr. Paskin was an active community member in West Long Branch and served on the Planning Board. He was a loyal and passionate Villanova basketball fan.
Dr. Paskin was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Rose Paskin. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara (Esposito) Paskin, their son Ryan and daughter Jackie, his sons Edward, Lewis, and Michael Paskin, his granddaughter Layla Paskin, his in-laws Samuel and Alice Esposito, sister-in-law Christine and husband Tim Ratty and niece and nephew, Andrea (Goclon) Durando and Ian Ratty.
Services will be at BLOOMFIELD-COOPER JEWISH CHAPEL" 2130 Highway #35, Ocean Township, New Jersey on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at Congregation Agudath Achim Cemetery, West Bangs Avenue Neptune, New Jersey.
The Period of Mourning will be observed at the Paskin Residence, Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm

In deep sympathy. I just learn today about Dr. Paskin . I spoked with him about 6weeks ago and he told me to keep him in the loop about my husband. Larry is Delouse brother.
I miss Sandy already.

I just found out about Sandy, I am so sorry. Please know you and the children will be in my prayers. I have such great memories of the boys going out and to hear their stories. One that was Sandy. They went fishing on Al's boat, staying in the Hamptons. Went out for dinner and he ordered a noodles gin martini. They didn't have bottles. He went beserk . A lot of laughs with you guys. Paskin Family - so sorry to hear of Dr. Paskin's passing. I first met him through my dad - who was a Dr. affiliated with Monmouth Medical. He did my anesthesia a few times and was an extremely caring and compassionate doctor. We were also fellow Villanova graduates, and spoke about our basketball team often. When I was a student there, he did my anesthesia and requested Villanova sweatshirts for his family as payment - true story!!!! He reached out in later years on FB and I was happy to have him as a friend!!! My thought's and prayers are with you all at this time.
