Sandra Clay Obituary

Sandra Montgomery Clay
1934-2016
Sandra Montgomery Clay passed away on Friday, October 21st, at the age of 82.
Sandra was a Houston native born in 1934 and graduated from the University of Texas (cum laude) as a Teacher. She began in Phys-ed and, later at Memorial Hall school, she worked in the media center and then began teaching students who were have difficulty in other environments. She found this both challenging and rewarding. Later she volunteered at the Brookwood community. This along with her passion for golfing occupied a lot of her time.
Sandra was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Dick Clay. She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Keith and Sheila Clay; daughter Cheryl Lou Clay; grandson Jacob Clay, his wife Emily and great grand-daughter Paisley.
A memorial service celebrating Sandra's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 27th at Waltrip Funeral Directors.

I worked with Sandra at Memorial Hall School for 16 years. She was devoted to the students and had an outstanding commitment to children with learning disabilities. Sandra was delightful and always fun to be around. We drifted apart when I resigned but I have often thought of her and remembered many little things I learned from her. God bless her family in the loss of this dynamic and gracious lady.
