Sandy played a very important role in our family. She met my sister Katherine (or known as growing up, Kathy) in approximately 1974, and my sister reportedly would not let Sandy leave DC. She was my sisters best friend and her Maid of Honor. My mother also became close to her, important as well after my sister died in 1999. Dear Jim, Caroline and the rest of the Guidera Family: We were so sad and stunned to learn of Sandy's passing. We immediately thought to ourselves,"how could this happen??
