Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

Kearney, Sandra “Sandy” J. (Rasch), age 70, of Wildwood, went to be with our Lord on April 2, 2020.

Beloved wife of David Kearney; identical twin sister of Suzy Jaworowski (Dan) and sister of Mark Rasch (Linda); mother of Shannon Hoffman (Don), Sean Sullivan (Jen), Bridget DuMont (Ben) and Brian Sullivan (Corrina); dear aunt to Josh Jaworowski (Amanda), Aaron Jaworowski (Paula), Adam Jaworowski (Jen), and Heidi Williams (Ryan); stepmother to Shay Kearney and Phil Kearney (Carolyn); and “Grandy” to Alex, Zack, Jack, Andrew, Kylee, Luke, Will, Alana, Weston, Nolan, Ty, Levi, Asher, Gabe, Lydia, Arden, Duke, Alexis, Mark and Justin; and preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Ethel Rasch.

Sandy was a model of faith and integrity for her family. After staying at home to raise her children, she became a lifelong educator. She joined the Rockwood School District in the 1980s and served as a guidance counselor at Eureka High School since 1993. She enjoyed Bible study, conservative politics, walking, traveling, eating at restaurants and, above all, cheering on her grandchildren at their many sporting events. Inspired by Christ’s message of love, peace and hope, Sandy always made everyone feel loved and special, ever sacrificing to put the needs of others before her own. She will be missed dearly.

Services: A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Crosspointe Jupiter Church or mail to 511 Cypress Ct., Jupiter FL 33469. A service of the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory. Friends may sign the family's on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.

Not sure what to say?

Sandy was our friendly welcome to Eureka High for our 2 youngest of 5 children. As African missionaries our heart was knit with her faith and joy. She cared for our kids like her own and we will miss Sandy. We are praying for Sandy family and rejoicing in a life well lived!

I have wonderful memories of what a great mom and women she was Our thoughts and prayers are with all of her family.

We would like to send our deepest symphonies to all of Sandy's family.
Although we only meant Sandy the weekend of Brian and Corrina's wedding, it was evident the love of family that Sandy and their family shared. We never had the pleasure to see Sandy again, but Brian ,Corrina, and Becky would share stories of how close and loving that their family was. Looking at Brian and seeing the quality of person , humble, honest, loving, and God fearing, tells us all that we need to know about...

We watched the Tribute to Sandy today and it was beautiful, just like Sandy. Our hearts have been broken. Sandy, although she is where she wants to be, was taken from us too soon. At least too soon for us. It is hard to believe she is no longer with us. We loved her and will miss her always. The entire family is in our prayers every day. Allan and Beverly Cordes

Fond memories of dinners together and grade school. Sandy was a wonderful friend. My heart goes out to Suzy and Dave and their families

May wonderful memories fill your hearts and minds until you meet again. Sandy made a difference in the lives of many young people...my daughter was one of those people. Thank you for giving so much to so many. The love for your family was one I wish every family could have.

A life well lived! " Well Done, Good and Faithful servant!" Our deepest sympathy to the whole family. Fond childhood memories-especially of "the twins" hanging out with my sister, Bushy.

Cant express my sorrow at the loss of Sandy! My sincere sympathies to the whole family. She will always remain in my heart, along with her beloved Suzy. Both of them are so loved by all blessed to have known them.
Please know that everyone in your family has my prayers upon this profound loss. You are all beautiful people who will continue to share her legacy of light & kindness. May God hold each of you in the palm of His hand & give you strength through this time of sorrow.

When I think of Sandy, I have to smile. She was a devoted educator, and I appreciated all she did to assist her students over the years. But what especially touched my heart was the connection we shared regarding our children and grandchildren. I felt a special kinship with Sandy when we shared stories of our families. We talked over one another as we excitedly shared the latest growth stories, often laughing, but brimming with pride. Typically Suzy was there, so it was three of us...
