Sandra Kearney Obituary

Kearney, Sandra 'Sandy' J.

(Rasch), age 70, of Wildwood, went to be with our Lord on April 2, 2020.

Beloved wife of David Kearney; identical twin sister of Suzy Jaworowski (Dan) and sister of Mark Rasch (Linda); mother of Shannon Hoffman (Don), Sean Sullivan (Jen), Bridget DuMont (Ben) and Brian Sullivan (Corrina); dear aunt to Josh Jaworowski (Amanda), Aaron Jaworowski (Paula), Adam Jaworowski (Jen), and Heidi Williams (Ryan); stepmother to Shay Kearney and Phil Kearney (Carolyn); and 'Grandy' to Alex, Zack, Jack, Andrew, Kylee, Luke, Will, Alana, Weston, Nolan, Ty, Levi, Asher, Gabe, Lydia, Arden, Duke, Alexis, Mark and Justin; and preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Ethel Rasch.

Sandy was a model of faith and integrity for her family. After staying at home to raise her children, she became a lifelong educator. She joined the Rockwood School District in the 1980s and served as a guidance counselor at Eureka High School since 1993. She enjoyed Bible study, conservative politics, walking, traveling, eating at restaurants and, above all, cheering on her grandchildren at their many sporting events. Inspired by Christ's message of love, peace and hope, Sandy always made everyone feel loved and special, ever sacrificing to put the needs of others before her own. She will be missed dearly.

Services: A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Crosspointe Jupiter Church or mail to 511 Cypress Ct., Jupiter FL 33469. A service of the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory. Friends may sign the family's on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.

Sandy was our friendly welcome to Eureka High for our 2 youngest of 5 children. As African missionaries our heart was knit with her faith and joy. She cared for our kids like her own and we will miss Sandy. We are praying for Sandy family and rejoicing in a life well lived!

We would like to send our deepest symphonies to all of Sandy's family.
Although we only meant Sandy the weekend of Brian and Corrina's wedding, it was evident the love of family that Sandy and their family shared. We never had the pleasure to see Sandy again, but Brian ,Corrina, and Becky would share stories of how close and loving that their family was. Looking at Brian and seeing the quality of person , humble, honest, loving, and God fearing, tells us all that we need to know about Sandy... We pray that God will hold each and every one that new her in the Palm of His Hands during this difficult time of mourning.... Our hope and prayer is that one day that we all can join Sandy together in Heaven...
GOD BLESS

We watched the Tribute to Sandy today and it was beautiful, just like Sandy. Our hearts have been broken. Sandy, although she is where she wants to be, was taken from us too soon. At least too soon for us. It is hard to believe she is no longer with us. We loved her and will miss her always. The entire family is in our prayers every day. Allan and Beverly Cordes

When I think of Sandy, I have to smile. She was a devoted educator, and I appreciated all she did to assist her students over the years. But what especially touched my heart was the connection we shared regarding our children and grandchildren. I felt a special kinship with Sandy when we shared stories of our families. We talked over one another as we excitedly shared the latest growth stories, often laughing, but brimming with pride. Typically Suzy was there, so it was three of us talking over one another as we ran into each other in Panera or other places around town. Sandy's kindness, expressed so freely, will not be forgotten by me or the others she touched. Sending deepest condolences to her family, children, grandchildren, and Suzy.

Our family is immensely saddened by the loss of Sandy. She was our son's guidance counselor at EHS for the 4 years he was there. During that time,Sandy made a lasting impression on all of us. She was always so helpful, kind, responsive, and accommodating. She always had our son's best interest at heart. She seemed to truly enjoy her job. What an amazing lady!! She will be truly missed!

I find myself over these last few days looking at these beautiful words. Sandy meant the world to the entire Jaworowski family. I keep thinking of memories and moments through the years that included Sandy. My heart is aching for everyone. Dave, Shannon, Sean, Bridget and Brian...we will always remember your mom for the incredible person she was. Uncle Danny & Auntie Suzy I am praying hard for you both.

April 8, 2020

There will never be another Sandy. One of my favorite memories is when she gave Brian the book, " The Bible for Dummies". And now he is a pastor, proclaiming the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ! I can hear our heavenly Father saying to her, "Well done faithful servant!" I am praying for the peace of God that surpasses all understanding for each one of you.

Please accept our sincere condolences for your devastating loss. We came to know Sandy when our son, Tracy, was in Shannon's class at Holy Infant School. She was such a kind, funny, and wise person. Just recently I shared some advice she gave me (Sue) many years ago about children's behavior at school. Sandy taught by example, and we observed what a wonderful mother and sister she was. We will keep Sandy and your family in our prayers.

Suzy. I am so saddened to hear of Sandy's passing. She was a delightful person. Thinking of you.

April 6, 2020

We can imagine Jesus saying "Well done, good and faithful servant." Sandy was generous with her time, talent, and worldly goods. Sharing her faith fearlessly. Meeting needs where she saw them. Every day was an adventure. She could find a redeeming feature in any setback she faced. We who met and walked a path with her are blessed beyond words.

Patty (Litzau) Sierminski

April 6, 2020

Dave, Shannon, Sean, Bridget, Brian, Suzy, Dan, Josh, Aaron, Adam, Mark, Linda and Heidi, and all spouses and grandkids...I am so happy for Sandy and can just picture her walking into the Throne Room of God...I can see her big smile, saying, My God, and walking up with her arms stretched out ready to give and receive a huge hug and then touching the face of God. Wow!!!
Death SUCKS! No two ways around it. The Gift God has given us is the memories we have of all the shenanigans Suzy and Sandy got in together. Remember the laughter you all shared, cry with missing Sandy by you and never forget all the joy she brought to this earth.
All I can think about is how much more fun Heaven is with Sandy there...ha!

I was very sorry to hear of your loss. Although it has been decades since I have seen any of the Sullivan/Jaworowski clans I have many fond childhood memories of all of you. I remember always enjoying my time at both of your homes and riding around in the VW Vanagon.
Please take care in these difficult times.
My sympathies.

April 5, 2020

I was blessed to meet Sandy when she helped with the campaign for my Dad to run for the school board. Sandy was one of the most memorable people from the campaign because she always talked to me like I was worth the conversation even though I was an angsty teenager, she was quick with a smile, and she generally made people feel happy. I pray her entire family is able to feel Gods love and peace throughout this difficult time of mourning and continues Sandys legacy of kindness and joy.

Thank you so much for helping me get to the point where Im at right now in my life. Encouraging me to graduate early. Making me a gold standard student. Showing me methods to calm down when Im pissed off. Helping me get through my depression. Or just being somebody I can come talk to whenever I need you. I am so thankful I moved to this school beginning of freshman year and you have helped me the past 4 years with everything I had going on in my life. Thank you for everything you have done for me and all the other students you have helped. Ill be thinking of you and your family always! Rest easy Mrs.Kerney- Jordyn Whaley

Lynne Eisenhardt Hill

April 5, 2020

Sandy befriended me when we were neighbors on Shirley Lane in 1973, both pregnant with our first sons. I was lonely, bored, and a little depressed, and her friendship was such a wonderful gift. We spent a lot of time together during our early years of motherhood. She was a great mom, and was something of a role model for me. I will always remember her great sense of humor and most especially the passion she had when she felt strongly about something, like her faith. I admired her ability to not get caught up in worrying about the little things that can sometimes derail us. She told me once that when she was ordering new carpet and was asked to choose a color, she said the colors of poop and peanut butter should work well. Hah! When she became a counselor, I felt that it was a career in which she would excel, and based upon other comments, it looks like that was exactly right. Suzy, I also enjoyed getting to know you and Dan and thought that the extremely close relationship that you two enjoyed was one for the record books. My sincere condolences to all of the family; I know she will be greatly missed.

Our prayers are with Suzy, Dave and the rest of the family for your loss. Sandy was a great friend, with a beautiful smile, great sense of humor and an incredible mother. One who valued her family each day of her life. She and Suzy would often finish each other's sentences and had a relationship that was a model for others. She loved her job and the students. She is not suffering any longer and is in a better place - one with God and smiling down at those she loved. We will always keep all of you in our hearts and prayers. Linda & Roy Mueller

Thanks for your advice on counseling, marriage, parenting, life, and food! I will miss our talks about religion and politics, our random side-bar conversations during meetings, the way "someone" would always leave one bite of a dish of food for whoever came along next, your perspective on a given situation, but mostly I will miss knowing that you are just a phone call, yell down the hall, or office away. I hope you are eating McDonald's French Fries or sausage biscuits with jelly non-stop and that the doughnuts in Heaven are readily available every day at 3:45 for you! "A lifetime of service for our youth cannot be adequately measured." Until we meet again, Love you Sandra Dee!

April 4, 2020

My heart goes out to the family and friends of Sandy. Sandy was guidance counselor to 2 of our 4 sons. To say that she was an incredible counselor doesnt begin to describe this fantastic lady. Having moved all over the country, we have been part of many schools. However, Sandy stands out above all the rest. Never was there a kinder, more supportive, or more genuine person than Sandy Kearney when it came to helping students and their families. She went above and beyond. Please accept our most sincere condolences. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Kathy Zaun, Spencer and Briggs

I met Sandy years ago when I worked at Charlie Gittos. Suzy and Dan were regulars of mine and her and David would frequently join them for dinner. I spent close to 10 years in the resturant industry before I left and started a career in insurance and financial planning, and in that time I waited on thousands of people. I can count the amount of people that were not only kind enough to want to know about my life outside of waiting tables, but also kind enough to bring personal gifts to show that I was on their mind. When my son was born a little over four years ago, Sandy and Suzy surprised me with a gift once I returned back to work. It was a blanket for my son. To this day, my son still sleeps with that blanket and it will be a constant reminder to my family of how Sandy has wrapped so many people in her love. My prayers are with the family as you all try to navigate your way through this difficult time.

One of my favorite things to do on a prep hour was to swing by the guidance office and talk to the counselors. Sandy always had an open seat. She would ask about my family, talk about politics and most often sit and talk about Jesus. She was the behind the scenes worker every year at our schools baccalaureate ceremony. She will be missed for sure. So thankful that she trusted in the Christ who saves.

I met Sandy in 1997 when I began working at RSD. In the beginning I was never sure if I was talking to Sandy or Suzy, both were beautiful, smart, happy women. Eventually I became a colleague of Suzys and it was easy to distinguish the difference. Never the less, Sandy clearly lived her faith and Suzy and Sandys main focus is always their family and each other. Another angel is shining down from heaven tonight.

Dave,Suzy,Dan,Shannon,Sean,Bridget,Brian,Josh,Aaron,Adam,Mark,Linda,Heidi...my heart is broken for you...the grief journey is so hard to walk. Sandy (along with Suzy ) was such a big part of my childhood...from babysitting us, seeing each other during the holidays, being my confirmation sponsor, being in her wedding as one of her four "rice-girls",babysitting her kids several times, visits w her w Ethel&Martha...keeping the 3 younger kids at her house while my own Mother was passing away. I treasure those memories and the joy and goofiness she brought wherever she went. And while we will miss her here on this earth, I trust she is safely wrapped in her ABBA's Arms, hanging with Jesus, filled entirely by the Holy Spirit...and enjoying the sweet reunions with family who have gone before her...I am sure they all welcomed her home...thanks for the example you set Sandy...until we meet again...much love...Norma (Jeanie) Litzau
