Sandy will live on in my heart, she was the student I felt most close to at Bryn Mawr and after when we both lived in Philly near her med school. At the time, I did not realize that all of our parents were Polish Jews who survived the holocaust, those days we did not talk of such things. Decades later, I made a few attempts to find her, but I was consumed with chronic illness and could not follow through. I am now in great pain for failing to do so.
