Sarah Yvonne Adams, 79, of Groton died Sunday, February 27, 2022, at UConn Health Center after a brief stay. Sarah was born January 6, 1943 in Boaz, AL to Mary Walters.
She was a 1961 graduate of Emma Samson High School, Gadsden, AL. She married Billie M. Adams on January 3, 1961 in Bremerton, WA. Together they traveled across the US during his 22 year Navy career finally retiring in Gretna, LA where she worked for 20 years as a sales associate at Kmart. After retirement she moved to AL and then to CT where she was a member of Poquonnock Bridge Baptist Church.
Sarah is survived by her daughter Dana Parfitt (John); grandsons, Tim Parfitt (Kristin) and James Parfitt (Rose); granddaughter Erin Gordon (Calvin); and great-grandchildren Onastasha Parfitt, Owin Parfitt, and Lucas Schaefer. She is also survived by her sister Fay Reid. She is predeceased by her mother, husband, and children Pamela Norman and David Adams.
Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames Street, Groton. All other arranges will be private.

Such a wonderful soul, she would always open her door to you if you needed a place to run from a hurricane, having fun visiting & remembering the good days, always checking on us, asking sure everyone was doing good & I'd there was anything that we may need.
