She was an amazing surgeon and beautiful human being. She gave her all to her patients and loved by all. Condolences to her family for their loss of this bright light.

I had the privilege of working alongside Sarah as a co-resident during our general surgery residency at Allegheny Health Network. She was not only an excellent surgeon but also a dedicated and compassionate physician whose commitment to her patients and to our profession was truly unparalleled. She inspired all of us who had the honor of training with her. She will be deeply missed by all of us.

Dr. Assali performed an outpatient procedure on me just 2 weeks ago. It was the first time I met her and the only doctor I ever looked forward to seeing again. Her humor was refreshing to see in such a stoic profession. We laughed our way all through my visit. Thank you, Sarah. May God rest your soul and bring peace to your loved ones.
