I had Professor Landau my first semester at NYU in 2003 for her Rise of the New York Skyscraper course. It was unlike any other course I had taken or would take, at NYU or elsewhere. We walked the through the city, stopping at buildings for her to note histories and architectural significance of various buildings we had no idea were so significant. As an old friend of the Landaus, I have known and admired Sara and her zest for exploring old buildings and architecture. I am saddened by her death and extend my condolences to Sidney , Amy and Paul as well as Paul's children.
