Sarah Lange Obituary
Sarah Jane Lange passed away on May 9, 2024, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's.
She is known for her love and care for everyone that she met and had a hand in raising many children in Glynn County. She will be truly missed by everyone.
We all know that she has been made whole and is dwelling in heaven with a smile looking over us. We ask that this be a celebration of her life and the joy that she brought to others.
She was an active member of St. Simons First Baptist Church since 1960. She spent many hours in the nursery loving on the babies. In her home, she had many people that she took in as family and never turned anyone away. She may have only given birth to 4 children but many claim her as their own. She also enjoyed long walks with her long-time neighbor around the neighborhood and down to the village.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bob" Lange Sr. and her son Robert "Smiley" Lange Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Stokes and son-in-law, Pat; son, Steven Lange and daughter-in-law, Tommie; and daughter, Barbara Lange; and her beloved grandchildren, Tanner Lange, Travis Lange, Taylor Lange, Jessica Stokes and Morgan Stokes; and sister, Linda Cooper and brother-in-law, Charlie Cooper, of Savannah.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at First Baptist Church St. Simons Island, with interment to follow in Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Jane Lange had to be one of the nicest and most genuine people I have ever met. We were both active members of the First Baptist Church on St. Simons Island. I remember her son Smiley and his infectious smile--he was a hit with the youth at the church. She was a friend to everybody, and my mother Marjery Brewer leaned on her friendship a lot. My sincerest sympathies to the Lange Family! Jane is with my mother and now Frances Flexer in that much better place. Let us live our lives in such a way that is pleasing to God, so we can see these loved ones again some fine day.

Going to Mrs. Jane´s house as a child was a formative experience for so many of us on Saint Simons, I feel like she kept everyone I grew up with at some point! She was a special woman who will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
