Sarah Totzke Obituary

Sarah J. Totzke of Huntley Sarah J. Totzke, 65, passed away Friday, March 9, 2007, at her home. She was born March 11, 1941, in Palatine, to the late Helen and Stephen Muran. Sarah married Thomas Dean Totzke Sr. in October of 1959. She worked for 15 years at Montgomery Ward Insurance. Sarah was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, as well as a friend to many. She was a gifted artist and loved shopping and crafts. She is survived by her husband of over 47 years and retired Arlington Heights Fire Department Lieutenant, Thomas Dean Totzke Sr.; three children, Carol Stream Fire Department Lieutenant, Thomas Dean Jr. (Gretchen) Totzke of Ashton, Ill., Lora Lee Totzke of Charlotte, N.C. and Greg Steven (Dana) Totzke of Shawnee, Kan.; and three grandchildren, Payton and Paige Totzke of Shawnee, and Faith Totzke of Ashton. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Oehler Funeral Home, Arlington Heights Chapel, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights. Funeral services will begin with prayers at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral chapel, and proceed to St. James Church, 820 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights for funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to "Gilda Radner Familial Ovarian Cancer Registry (GRFOCR)", Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Elm & Carlton Streets, Buffalo, NY 14263.
